The 26-year-old former UP Fighting Maroons star recently announced his yesterday from the PBA after a one-year stint with the Ginebra Gin Kings citing to pursue a business career.
He clarified that his retirement did not mean completely turning his back on basketball, rather, he needed more time in his newly-found commitment in running their family business thus shorter leagues such as the Dubai tourney are more fitting to his shifted focus.
The crafty guard will be joining former Lakers star Lamar Odom, his former teammate import Justin Brownlee, Beijing Ducks big man Randolph Morris, along with fellow locals Joseph Yeo and Gab Banal.
This foray marks Manuel’s comeback to the international arena after a stint for Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas in the last 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup along with fellow ballers Jeron Teng, Isaiah Austin and Kiefer Ravena.
Team owner Caesar Wongchuking is looking to bolster his Mighty Sports squad with college stars Juan Gomez de Liano of UP and Santi Santillan of DLSU.
