Girl power!
Mighty Sports officials and Jones Cup team players congratulate the FIBA Women’s 3×3 Under-18 Asia Cup Bronze medalists with a victory dinner in Cafe Carusso, Makati.
Led by former Mighty Sports coach Pat Aquino, the women’s 3×3 Philippine basketball team outlasted China to snag the bronze in Cyberjaya, Malaysia last Saturday.
The Gilas Pilipinas ladies made up of Camille Clarin, Angel Surada, Ella Fajardo and Kristine Cayabyab settled for the bronze medal match after almost beating Australia with a 12-15 score card.
Nonetheless, the fierce lasses did not come home empty-handed as they defeated defending champions China with a nail-biting 14-11 victory.
As such, longtime basketball patron Caesar Wongchuking and his Mighty Sports company gave a much welcome appreciation for the valiant effort and Filipino pride the women’s ball club brought.
“I’m very proud of what these girls have accomplished. At their age, I’m sure they are set to accomplish more and as they continue to help put the Philippines in the world stage of women’s basketball,” Mighty Sports owner Caesar Wongchuking said.
