Mighty Sports is set for an international comeback as the Philippine representatives to the 2019 William Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan.
Team officials appeared Wednesday evening in a press conference hosted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum where they also announced a partnership with the Bulacan-based sportswear and apparel manufacturer, among others.
Coming off a strong performance in Dubai, Mighty Sports-Philippines looks to retain its core of Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Gray and Roosevelt Adams.
The squad, owned by brothers Caesar and Alex Wongchuking, is seeking to complete with team with Xavier School’s top talent along with three imports.
This will be the second time Mighty Sports will participate in the tournament where it had a successful 8-0 sweep back in 2016.
The Taipei cagefest is scheduled to kick off in July.
